Transit Lives
2018–Present
Documenting the daily commute across different cultures.
Between origin and destination lies a hidden world where we are collectively alone. Transit Lives is a documentary exploration of the universal ritual of the daily commute, spanning the rails and roads of New York, Tokyo, Berlin, and beyond.
Stripped of color, these images focus on the raw human texture of mass movement. The project captures the inherent paradox of public transport: the crushing physical proximity of the crowd contrasted with profound mental isolation. From the silent exhaustion of a late-night shift to the chaotic friction of rush hour, these photographs bear witness to the life that happens while we are waiting to arrive.
